MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to all who wish to support the work of the Council. Membership is not dependent on religion or affiliation with or membership in a church, synagogue or other religious body. Membership is also not dependent on religious state (lay, clergy, or religious), nor area of residence.

 

Membership is not dependent on attendance at the monthly business meeting.

 

Membership is dependent however on the payment of the annual dues, which is kept low so as not to be a bar to membership. Only those who are current with their annual dues are counted as members, and are eligible to vote for officers or on issues.  

 

The demographic of the membership usually has been an almost even division between Catholics and Jews and between men and women. The vast majority have been lay people, with a few priests, rabbis, and nuns. The age group tends to be middle age and older. The educational level is high with many of the members possessing college and post graduate degrees.
